Read Aloud Week
It's Read Aloud Week!! We are so excited in room 13! We're going to be reading lots of fun books out loud and even get the opportunity to meet with our buddies in 4th grade to read with them later this week!
We are also starting our poetry unit this week, so we'll be reading and writing some fun poetry. The first type of poetry we're going to look at are acrostic poems. Do you want to write your own acrostic poem? You can use this fabulous site to do your brainstorming and even print out your poem from the site once it's complete! Check it out here: Read, Write, Think's Acrostic Poem
Here are some examples:
Garbage
Grounds (coffee)
Apple (core)
Rinds (melon)
Banana (peel)
Anchovies (from a pizza I wouldn't eat)
Grapes (too ripe to eat)
