Voice Level Chart

What is the voice level chart?

The voice level chart is a way of showing students what voice level they should be using during a given activity.  In September, we will be practicing these voice levels a lot to get used to what each one sounds like.

This is not the poster that will be in the classroom, but it is very similar.  I like this image because it really explains what each voice level is and when it is used.

Homework Policy

Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday.  The assignments will usually include: math, spelling, daily reading, and Fundations.

Homework should take 25-30 minutes each day.  Please let me know if your child continuously exceeds this time limit.  Long-term assignments are given in advance so that your child will work on it a little at a time.  Daily homework assignments will not be excused because of long-term assignments.

Missed homework assignments will be made up at home. I will notify you if your child misses 3 homework assignments or more each term. This will enable us to help your child become more responsible in this area.

Birthdays!

In keeping with the spirit of the District policies on wellness and food allergies, the Kennedy School requests that no food items be brought into the classroom for distribution to the class. 


Upon arrival to school on their special day, the birthday student can stop by the office and let them know it is their special day. Their name will be announced over the intercom during morning announcements and then they will be called to receive their Birthday Book from Mrs. Toye (thanks to the PCC :-). 


 *** We need to request that invitations to individual birthday parties be sent to school for distribution to the children, UNLESS all children in the classroom are invited.***
