Room 13 Limericks

In continuation of our poetry unit, we have learned about Limericks.  They are fun five lined poems that are centered around a person (or animal).  It follows the AABBA rhyme format.  Have a look at some of room 13's amazing poems!

"The Dog Biting Hog"
There was a very large hog,
who bit a large sized dog.
The dog was in pain,
he walked toward a lane,
deep into the misty fog.

"Dog and Cat"
The once was a dog and a cat
she forces the dog to give her a pat
The dog doesn't like her
although he likes her fur
so the dog hid under a hat.

There was a dog that sang a lot
he even sang in the parking lot
he sang to a bat
he sang to a cat
they did not like that a lot

"Bat with a Hat"
There once was a bat with a hat
his friend hit the hat with a bat
he had some money
he bought something funny
but he forgot to buy a hat.

Phil has a fish named Bill
he had to pay his house bill
Phil likes fish
and he eats it in a dish
and then he ate poor Bill.

the hat had a big hairy rat
the rat had a dog
there was lots of fog
When the fog was gone they sat.
